DPL PRÉCIS

Intelligent professional IPL, re-engineered for modern practice.

Expand your treatment offering with guided operation, flexible single-shot and in-motion delivery, precision treatment options and reliability-led engineering.

DPL Precis

"One platform. More ways to treat. More opportunities to grow.”

DPL Précis is a professional IPL platform designed to help clinics address a broad range of skin and hair concerns through one adaptable system—combining the established performance of Aesthetic Bureau's DPL technology with a more modern operating experience.

A versatile skin and hair platform.

A clinic device should do more than perform technically.

It should help your team expand the services they can offer, create meaningful treatment journeys, work efficiently and give clients reasons to return.

DPL Précis is designed as a versatile skin and hair platform rather than a single-purpose hair-removal device. Depending on approved indications, practitioner scope and client assessment, its filter range and delivery modes may support protocols across:

  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Pigmentation and visible sun damage
  • Vascular and redness-focused treatments
  • Acne-focused protocols
  • Hair reduction
  • Localised skin concerns requiring smaller treatment fields

The original DPL platform has been positioned around this breadth of application, helping clinics use one device across multiple client needs rather than relying on separate systems for every concern. (Aesthetic Bureau)

Broaden your treatment menu
Create a more comprehensive energy-based offering from one professional IPL platform.

Build longer client journeys
Support clients across evolving concerns—from breakouts and redness through to pigmentation, hair reduction and visible signs of ageing.

Encourage repeat bookings
Many IPL protocols are delivered as structured treatment courses, creating opportunities for recurring appointments and ongoing skin-management programs.

Improve device utilisation
A platform that can support multiple treatment categories has more opportunities to earn its place in the clinic schedule.

Why choose DPL Précis for your clinic?

Greater treatment versatility

1 Different clients, concerns and treatment areas require different approaches.

Précis gives practitioners access to multiple IPL filters, two full-size treatment windows, three dedicated precision adaptors and a choice between single-shot and in-motion BBR delivery.

This allows the system to move from efficient broader-area coverage to carefully defined localised treatment without requiring improvised masking or a separate device.

More confident practitioner workflows

2 As treatment menus grow, practitioners are expected to become proficient across more technologies and protocols.
Précis supports the operator with guided presets, skin-scanner-assisted parameter selection and automatic filter recognition. Experienced users can still configure the device manually, ensuring that system guidance supports rather than replaces clinical judgement.

Faster, adaptable treatment delivery

3 In-motion IPL has historically been used to support efficient treatment of broader areas and create smoother energy delivery across the skin. The original DPL platform made this a central part of its commercial and treatment story. (Aesthetic Bureau)

Précis expands that flexibility by allowing the practitioner to select single-shot or in-motion BBR operation across the IPL filter range, rather than restricting in-motion treatment to only selected filters.

A more comfortable treatment experience

4 Sapphire Peltier contact cooling helps manage heat at the skin throughout treatment, supporting a more controlled and comfortable client experience.

The original Protégé platform used sapphire contact cooling as a key part of its comfort and workflow proposition; Précis retains this foundation while integrating it into a redesigned handpiece and cooling architecture.

Reliability designed into the platform

5 DPL Précis has not only been redesigned around what practitioners see.

Aesthetic Bureau has also invested in component areas that directly affect day-to-day ownership, including the handpiece connector, service accessibility, front-mounted controls and software connectivity.

The result is a device designed around the full clinic experience—from treatment setup through to support and long-term use.

More than hair reduction.

A versatile platform for skin and hair treatments.

IPL remains valuable because different wavelengths can be filtered and delivered according to the intended target and protocol.

DPL Précis uses interchangeable filters to support a wider range of treatment strategies from one system.

Subject to final approved indications, training and practitioner assessment, the platform may support treatment pathways across the following categories.

Skin rejuvenation
Use controlled IPL energy to support protocols focused on visible skin tone, texture and signs of photodamage.

Pigmentation and sun damage
Select filters and parameters appropriate to certain superficial pigmented presentations following consultation and assessment.

Vascular appearance and redness
Support clinician-led protocols for selected visible vascular and redness concerns where IPL is appropriate.

Acne-focused treatments
Incorporate IPL into structured treatment programs for suitable acne and inflammation presentations.

Hair reduction
Choose between precise single-shot delivery and rapid in-motion operation according to the treatment area and protocol.

Localised precision treatments
Use dedicated spot-size adaptors when a smaller, clearly defined treatment field is required.

ABOUT THE DEVICE

Australian-Engineered for Efficiency, Built for Business Growth

The DPL Précis is a compact, versatile IPL system designed for modern clinics. Engineered for precision and versatility, it treats a variety of skin conditions while maximising clinic profitability.

01

Guided where it helps. Open where expertise matters.

DPL Precis Treatment image

A more intelligent approach to treatment setup.
DPL Précis has been designed to help make professional IPL easier to navigate across a busy clinic team.
Rather than forcing every user into the same workflow, it offers different levels of operating assistance.

Guided treatment presets
Select from preset treatment pathways designed to provide a clearer starting point for setup.

Skin-scanner-assisted parameter selection
Scan a sample of the intended treatment area and use the resulting information as a guide when selecting parameters.

Manual skin-type selection
Practitioners can manually enter relevant client and treatment information when scanner assistance is not required.

Full manual configuration
Experienced operators retain control over treatment configuration according to assessment, protocol and professional judgement.

Guidance when you need it. Control when you want it.

02

Intelligent filter recognition

Greater confidence before the first pulse.
DPL Précis automatically identifies the IPL filter inserted into the handpiece.

This helps reduce the possibility of configuring treatment settings for a different filter and creates a clearer connection between the physical handpiece setup and the operating interface.

A manual selection option remains available as a backup, accompanied by prominent on-screen warnings when automatic recognition is bypassed.

The right filter.
The right operating mode.
A more controlled setup process.

03

Every filter. Your choice of delivery.

Single-shot precision or rapid in-motion BBR.
Different protocols call for different methods of energy delivery.

DPL Précis allows practitioners to move between two approaches across the IPL filter range.

Single-shot mode
Deliver controlled, individually positioned pulses where careful placement, defined coverage and higher-intensity point delivery are required.

In-motion BBR
Move the handpiece continuously across the treatment area while delivering rapid pulses for a smooth, efficient workflow over broader areas.

The original DPL Protégé positioned in-motion treatment around faster operation, even energy distribution and improved client comfort. Précis carries that core concept forward while extending the availability of in-motion delivery across all IPL filters.

One platform. Two delivery approaches. More freedom to adapt.

04

Advanced filtering for more deliberate energy delivery.

Wavelength selection matters.

IPL begins with a broad spectrum of light. The filter determines which portions of that spectrum are delivered through the handpiece and therefore plays a central role in treatment strategy.

The DPL platform uses notch and dual-filter configurations to remove or restrict selected wavelengths and create more targeted spectral bands for specific protocols.

The original Protégé page positioned this filtering system around reducing unnecessary wavelength exposure and delivering energy more selectively to intended chromophores.

Précis retains a multi-filter approach while adding automatic filter recognition and giving practitioners access to single-shot and BBR delivery across the filter range.

Proposed filter options

  • 520–670 nm and 870–1200 nm notch-filter configuration
  • 540–800 nm dual filter
  • 580–800 nm dual filter
  • 640 nm hair-reduction filter
  • 690–1200 nm hair-reduction filter

Final filter names, wavelength bands and approved applications should be confirmed against the production system before publication.

05

Precision at every scale.

Efficient coverage when the area is broad. Greater control when it is not.

DPL Précis offers two full-size treatment-window options.

40 × 12 mm
4.8 cm² treatment window
Designed for controlled treatment placement across smaller or more detailed areas.

46 × 16 mm
7.36 cm² treatment window
Designed to support efficient coverage of broader treatment areas.

Dedicated precision adaptors
Reduce the active treatment field with purpose-designed adaptors:

  • 10 × 10 mm square
  • 5 mm circular
  • 8 mm circular

These adaptors create a clearly defined treatment area without requiring practitioners to cut adhesive labels or manually mask the larger window.

That supports a cleaner workflow, more consistent positioning and a more professional approach to small-area treatment.

From broad coverage to focused application, Précis gives practitioners the treatment field the area calls for.

06

Sapphire contact cooling

DPL Precis Treatment image

Cooling designed around comfort, control and continuous operation.

Heat management is fundamental to professional IPL treatment.
The Précis handpiece uses a sapphire treatment surface cooled through Peltier technology and internal chilled-water circulation.

This provides direct contact cooling at the treatment area, helping manage epidermal heat and client sensation before, during and between pulses.

The original Protégé platform emphasised sapphire cooling as an important contributor to patient comfort and back-to-back clinic workflow.

Précis combines contact cooling with a closed-circuit integrated heat exchanger to manage temperature throughout the system.

Contact cooling at the skin

Closed-circuit system heat management

Designed for consistent clinic operation
Claims such as “no downtime” or uninterrupted back-to-back use should only be published once validated against final duty-cycle testing.

07

Engineered for consistent energy delivery.

The Précis handpiece architecture incorporates several technologies designed to support effective light delivery and thermal management.

These include:

  • Water-cooled handpiece construction
  • Sapphire Peltier contact cooling
  • Integrated UV filtration
  • High-reflection silver reflector technology
  • Magnetically retained insertion filters
  • Connected-filter identification
  • Handpiece identification and usage information

The high-reflection silver reflector is designed to distribute light efficiently toward the treatment window, while the cooling architecture manages heat generated by repeated lamp operation.

Reliability engineered into every connection.

Some of the most important improvements are the ones a client may never see.

Handpiece connectors are among the most frequently handled and mechanically stressed components in IPL and laser systems.

Each Précis handpiece connection must accommodate multiple operational pathways, including:

  • Cooling-water circulation
  • High-voltage lamp connections
  • Peltier cooling power
  • Trigger connections
  • Temperature information
  • Filter-recognition data

For this reason, Aesthetic Bureau selected a premium modular connector platform incorporating silver-alloy contact technology and designed for demanding repeated-use applications.

The underlying connector platform is specified for more than 100,000 mating cycles, subject to confirmation that the rating applies to the exact final Précis configuration.

Selected for repeated clinical use

Easier handpiece connection and exchange

Multifunction power, data and fluid pathways

A deliberate investment in dependable ownership

Designed around the way clinics work.

Essential controls, brought within easy reach.

The screen, handpiece connector, power controls and operating indicators are positioned toward the front of the device.

This creates a more accessible working area and reduces the need for practitioners to move around the unit when adjusting settings or changing the handpiece.

Additional design features include:

  • Modern touchscreen interface
  • Front-mounted handpiece connection
  • Accessible power and emergency-stop controls
  • External access to selected service components
  • Closed-circuit cooling
  • Wi-Fi-enabled software updates and activation
  • Compact benchtop device architecture
