Trevor Neale is a leading expert in energy-based devices, with over 30 years of experience in clinical training and manufacturing innovation. As an engineer, educator, and industry consultant, Trevor has been instrumental in developing some of the most advanced IPL and LED technologies in Australia.

As a ‘laser guy’ who has purchased and owned many lasers over the past 18 years, I thought that laser was always the way to go over IPL. I felt that lasers always did the job more specifically and effectively than IPL. However, I did reconsider this idea more recently, as I wanted an all-in-one machine that could be used on almost all my patients and treat multiple concerns. I ended up researching and testing multiple IPL machines. I purchased one IPL machine, which was less effective than I hoped. I then went on to purchase Aesthetic Bureau’s DPL Protégé, and this machine has significantly changed my thinking about IPL. The machine can treat a number of skin concerns, making it my go-to energy-based device for many of my patients. Furthermore, the effectiveness of this machine on concerns such as pigmentation and telangiectasia or rosacea often has surpassed my expectations, and the results are often better than the other lasers I have that are specifically designed for those treatments. Finally, even the most effective device is no good without the proper support and service.
